Our Launch | Mental Health Awareness Week
Welcome To Our Website
Welcome to Smiles Cross Miles! We are passionate about tackling the stigma surrounding mental health, promoting the benefits of kindness and showing the difference a simple act of kindness can make; which is why we launched our website to coincide with Mental Health Awareness week 2020.
Mental Health Awareness Week 2020 Theme
The theme for Mental Health Awareness Week 2020 was kindness and that’s something we here at Smiles Cross Miles definitely want to get on board with.
We believe that even the smallest act of kindness can make a huge difference to a person’s mental wellbeing; plus evidence shows that helping others can also have a positive effect on your own mental health and wellbeing! Pretty cool huh?

What Do We Mean By Mental Health?
Mental Health isn’t solely about psychological wellbeing; it also encompasses emotional and social wellbeing too.
Poor mental health can have a huge impact on our day to day lives and affect the way in which we relate to other people, make decisions and our ability to handle stressful situations.
It is estimated that 1 in 4 people in the UK experience a mental health problem each year, ranging from anxiety and depression to substance misuse and psychosis.
Over the past few years the subject of mental health has thankfully become a little less taboo, but it is so important that we keep the subject in the public eye and end the stigma surrounding mental health once and for all.
Smiles Cross Miles
So where does Smiles Cross Miles fit in to all this?
Well, we hope our gift boxes can help you to show a little kindness and let someone know you are thinking of them in difficult times.
The current pandemic has had a massive effect on all of our lives and a lot of people have been left feeling alone, worried, isolated and unsure of where to go from here.
It’s going to be a long road and the ‘new normal’ may seem a little daunting; but we hope our gift boxes can be a ray of sunshine in the storm and help lighten the load by giving someone something to smile about during these unsettling times.
Receiving a gift could potentially make all the difference to your loved one giving them a much needed boost, improving their self esteem and reminding them that there are people out there who care.
Kindness Is Powerful...
Some of the best moments to have come out of this awful Covid-19 situation have all had one thing in common – kindness. Captain Tom and his amazing fundraising efforts for the NHS, the Clap For Carers every Thursday evening and all of the volunteers in hundreds of different areas, helping to assist the vulnerable in so many different ways….kindness is powerful and can shine some light in even the gloomiest times.
If you’d like to create your own bespoke gift box for a friend, family member or neighbour take a look at our Shop section now. If you need some inspiration, we also have some boxes with gifts that we have pre-selected to show you what’s possible. Show someone you care, even when you can’t be there.
If you’re feeling alone and need someone to talk to you can find lots of information and assistance from
and many other mental health charities. Just remember, you’re not alone and there are people who can and want to help.
